Rahul Dravid

An unsung player of Indian cricket team. This i m writing after India lost against england on 01/08/2011, 2nd test wid a series 0-2 in 4 match series. But only one batsman who really played for India was Dravid. But i said him as an unsung because whenever he play a magnificent innings some other matter will get highlightened as it happened with ian bell and dhoni.

There r none to play short pitch ball except my GOD in Indian cri team nw he is d only 1 visible to bCCi n so to retain its respect dey selected my GOD.. wat a justice is dis?! But without considering these things Dravid still plays for India..!

THIS WALL RISES AGAIN

After the fourth Test at Kingston against the West Indies in April 2006, where he made 81 & 68, Dravid suffered a loss of form judging by his normally high standards...

THE TURNAROUND NZ tour in Jan 2009
Dravid had endured a lean period for close to three years before the New Zealand tour came along. There were youngsters like Cheteshwar Pujara snapping at his heels and the class act seemed to be losing his magic touch. All that, however, changed as Dravid scored 314 runs in three Tests at an average of 62.80.
THEN FOLLOWED THE HUNDREDS...
177 vs SL at Ahmedabad in Nov 2009: At Motera, India were reduced to 32/4, before Dravid hit 177. The match was drawn.
144 vs SL at Kanpur in Nov 2009: This ton came after a 233-run opening stand between Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir. India won easily.

111 retd hurt vs Bangladesh at Mirpur in Jan 2010: It is a century that Dravid won’t look back at too fondly. The veteran batsman sustained a fractured jaw bone after being struck by a scorcher off Shahadat Hossain. It was only time Dravid was ‘hurt’ by a bowler.
104 vs NZ at Ahmedabad in Nov 2010: The Kiwis were punished by a blistering 173 by Virender Sehwag, but Dravid did some damage too. The match was a draw.
191 vs NZ at Nagpur in Nov 2010: Dravid’s 191 helped India record an inngs & 198-run win.

112 vs West Indies at Kingston in June 2011: India were rescued from 85/6 by Harbhajan Singh & Suresh Raina, and later Dravid’s solo effort and the bowlers ensured incredible 63-run win.
103* vs England at Lord’s in July 2011: India lost but Dravid finally got what he could have achieve on his debut 15 years back — a hundred at the home of cricket —Lord’s.

117 vs England at Trent Bridge in July 2011: Having been forced to play as an opener, Dravid scored 117. India lost.
146* vs England at The Oval in July 2011: India collapsed to 137/6 while replying to 591/6 declared, but then Dravid, again playing as an opener due to Gautam Gambhir’s injury, stood tall scoring an unbeaten 146.

Rahul Dravid is batting at his best at the moment. After living through a difficult phase from 2006-2009, Dravid has hit back at his critics in the only way he can — nine hundreds in the last one-and-half-years with four in the last seven Tests alone. Dravid, at 38, is only getting better with age.

Andy Flower selects Rahul Dravid as India's man of the series. Obviously. Dravid has been towering above his team-mates this series. A wonderful player and clearly one of the best guys in the game. He starts by congratulation England and thanking them for a great series. Asked why India have been unable to compete well this series he smiles, and says "might take half an hour!" Asked if he'll be back he again smiles, "one series at a time, Michael, one series at a time." :when India lost against british whitewash 4-0.. in presentation ceremony..

Gautam Gambhir heads back home, and Sachin Tendulkar will sit this match out, but Rahul Dravid, at the age of 38, will make his T20I debut!!!
